Chamber

In 1978, he joined the Nash Ensemble with whom he has played and recorded a large repertoire of chamber music. He has made ore than 60 recordings with them, including the Mozart piano Quartets, Beethoven Piano and Wind Quintets, the Mendelssohn Piano Trios, the Brahms Piano Quartets, Quintet and Trios, a double CD of the works of Saint-Saens and the complete chamber music output of Poulenc.

In contemporary music, he has been involved in very many Nash Ensemble commissions and other first performances, particularly of contemporary British composers. He has also played regularly with the London Sinfonietta.

In duo playing, he as partnered may distinguished musicians. For several years, he worked with Henryk Szeryng, touring many times in Europe and Japan. He played Sonatas and Trios with Rostropovich in the three LSO series in the Barbican devoted to the music of Britten, Shostakovich and Prokofiev. More recently, he has recorded and toured in Russia with Maxim Vengerov.

He has a regular duo with Min-Jin Kym, with whom, as well as a busy concert schedule, he has recorded Brahms and Beethoven Sonatas. He recently toured Australia with Steven Isserlis, and they have several appearances in Germany in future seasons.

He has worked with Ruggerio Ricci, Grygory Pauk, Ralph Kirshbaum, James Galway and Dame Felicity Lott.
